Biography: Taylor is the Literary Editor and Sunday Magazine Editor of the ''Chicago Tribune''. A former President of the National Book Critics Circle, she still serves on the Board of Directors and chairs the strategic planning committee. Elizabeth has also served as a Pulitzer juror and has charied the Biography and Fiction committees.Taylor grew up in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a Mary Lyon Scholar at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She went on to Yale University where she earned an MA. After college, she worked for the Carnegie Institute for Peace and then for the ''Philadelphia Inquirer'' where she wrote opinion columns and book reviews.
