Biography: Jim is a lifelong resident of Chicago's western suburbs. He received his bachelor's degree in Speech & Theatre from UICC (as it then was called, in 1969) master's degree in journalism from Roosevelt University in 1999. He began working at WBBM Newsradio 780 in the summer of 1968 and is now the morning editor there. He also teaches journalism at Roosevelt.

• A Peter Lisagor award from the Chicago Headline Club and two national awards from the Writers Guild of America.
