Biography: Nakeyia Jones is an author, publisher and professional speaker that was born and raised in the Bronx, NY with her mother, father, and two brothers. She moved to Illinois in August 2010, when she married her husband, Justin who was born and raised in Chicago. Jones has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Oglala Lakota College, and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from American College of Education. She has worked within both industries for over 20 years. In 2018, she left teaching to pursue writing full time. As a full time author, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and enjoying foods from different cultures. Nakeyia runs a publishing company Uniquely Purposed Publishing that encourages children, teens and adults to tell their story. Her life's work is dedicated to encouraging young people to read and make literacy the norm for all children, everywhere.
