Born: 1952 in DuQuoin, IL
Pen Name: None Connection to Illinois: I was born in DuQuoin, Illinois, the son of a coal miner. I attended college at Southern Illinois University- Carbondale majoring in philosophy. I worked for 35 years as a union carpenter and construction foreman throughout Illinois and surrounding states retiring in 2012. Now I reside on a small farm near Pinckneyville with my wife Linda Winter-Gross. Biography: I am the father of three grown children and four grandchildren. I volunteer at DuQuoin high school with the special ed. wood shop classes and work summers as a conservation worker at Pyramid State Park. I play clawhammer banjo for therapy and attend as many St. Louis Cardinal games as I can fit in.
