Connection to Illinois: I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I attended Columbia College in Chicago. My first book, ''West Pullman'', winner of the Bordighera Poetry Prize, revolves around the titular far south side neighborhood.

Biography: Guinzio received a B.A. from Columbia College and an MFA from the Milton Avery School of the Arts at Bard College. She is the author of the books ''West Pullman'', ''Quarry'' and ''Spoke & Dark'' along with the chapbooks ''Untitled Wave'' and ''a liss''. Her work has also appeared in ''Colorado Review'', ''Denver Quarterly'', ''Indiana Review'', ''New American Writing'', ''Smartish Pace'', ''Willow Springs'' and many other journals. Guinzio has received awards from the arts councils of Kentucky and Illinois and the Fund for Poetry. Currently, she is the poetry editor at ''Yew: A Journal of Innovative Writing & Images by Women''. She lives with her husband, the poet Davis McCombs in Fayetteville, AR.
