Pen Name: None Connection to Illinois: Dr. Genzen lived in Hyde Park in Chicago. Biography: Dr. Jonathan Genzen is an avid canoeist and kayaker. He spent countless hours paddling on the Main and South Branches of the Chicago River when he lived in Hyde Park. He earned both his Ph.D. in neurobiology and M.D. from the University of Chicago and previously lived in Evanston when he was an undergraduate at Northwestern University. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Chicago River Rowing and Paddling Center. He currently is Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College.
