Connection to Illinois: I was born and raised in Kewanee, Illinois. I currently reside in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Biography: I received a B.A. in Christian Ministries from Lincoln Christian College in 1982, an M.A. in Preaching (1987) and M.Div. in New Testament (1988) from Lincoln Christian Seminary, and an M.A. (1990) and Ph.D. (1995) in Speech Communication with specializations in the history of rhetoric, rhetorical theory, and rhetorical criticism from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. I have served on the faculties of Kentucky Christian University (1994-2000), Illinois College (2000-2009) and Lincoln Christian University (current).
