Ruby Dell Baugher
Born: 1891, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois
Died: 1982 Connection to Illinois: Baugher was born in Mt. Vernon. Biography: Ruby Dell Baugher was an author and poet. She spent part of her childhood in Morganfield, Kentucky, attended Bowling Green College and went on to graduate from Georgetown College in 1925. She taught high school for a while and moved to Evansville, Indiana in 1945. In all, her career spanned fifty years and produced over twenty history books and novels. She is buried in Spring Grove, Kentucky.
