Biography: Syed Afzal Haider was born in India, raised in Pakistan, and educated in the US, studying electrical engineering, psychology, and social work. His short stories and essays have appeared in a variety of literary magazines. His short stories have been nominated for Pushcart Prizes and have won best short fiction awards. Haider lives in Evanston and is the senior editor at Chicago Quarterly Review.
