Connection to Illinois: Majsak lives in Chicago. Biography: ABC Animals! is Steve Majsak’s first published book. The idea came from his Studio Steve Photography portfolio, when he realized that in his travels to Africa, the Galapagos, Spain, Peru and national parks and zoos across the United States that he had captured photographs of most of the animals in the alphabet. The book is written for parents and grandparents as an alternative to traditional Apple-Ball-Cat ABC books. ABC Animals! features live photographs of animals to give families the opportunity to explore, experience, and talk about wildlife as they read together. Mr. Majsak received his MBA in nonprofit management from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. Prior to pursuing photography, he was a non-profit executive with social service and arts organizations. Four of his photographs were nominated in 2022 by an international panel of jurors to compete with submissions from 73 countries in the International Color Awards, the leading global award honoring excellence in color photography and the world’s most watched photoshow.
