Connection to Illinois: Latta lived in Champaign for over 20 years.

Biography: Sara Latta has a Master's degree in Immunology and began writing about science and medicine. In 2006, she took her writing a step further by earning a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, with an emphasis on Writing for Young People. While living in Champaign, Illinois, she was an adjunct professor of English at Richland Community College in Decatur, and wrote a YA book recommendation column for the Champaign ''News-Gazette''. Latta currently resides in New York City.
