Connection to Illinois: Deeds was born and raised in Pekin and is currently living in Richview, in Southern Illinois. Biography: Crystal Deeds is a mother of two adult children, grandmother of one, and wife of 32 years to a wonderful, Godly man. She has had a relationship with her Heavenly Father since the age of 4 and began truly seeking after Him and His will for her life at the age of 17. This is when God began to heal her of her broken past, ultimately leading to her ministry and book. She has served the Lord in many capacities over the years and plans to continue until she takes her last breath. Crystal has served in many different volunteer positions since 1989. She is ordained for ministry through The Rock Church of Centralia, IL. and currently volunteers, along with her husband, as a chaplain for Billy Graham’s Rapid Response Team, as well as serving in their local prison ministry together. Crystal leads several small groups, using her book as a resource, and walks the participants through the study step by step. In the past, she served on an evangelistic team, sharing the gospel in people's homes, and has led many to the Lord. She has led countless small groups over the years, for teens, adult women, and couples. She served in youth ministry from 1993 to 2014, also along with her husband for most of those years. She has a heart for prayer and she and her husband have led the intercessory prayer team at two different churches over the years and she still participates in prayer ministry at her current church. She has some basic training in biblical counseling, and crisis intervention, and this has helped her to fulfill the calling God has placed on her life. She loves helping people heal from their pain and daily struggles and she uses her ministry to do that.
