Connection to Illinois: Grant is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria. He also graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He currently lives in Springfield.

Biography: Joshua I. Grant is an Illinois writer known for poems that make you feel. His poems are at once raw, accessible, and hopeful. A graduate of Bradley University’s English and Communications programs, Grant studied under Illinois Poet Laureate Kevin Stein, who inspired Grant to take risks. Grant began writing and publishing poems at Bradley, where his first poem was selected for the Broadside literary arts journal. Grant also graduated from the Chicago-Kent College of Law where he won awards for his legal writing; he has become an accomplished lawyer. His debut book is: The Voice Within. An avid long-distance runner, Grant begins writing most of his poems while running. Thunderous emo or electronic dance music usually accompanies and inspires his writing. Grant is also a Star Trek fan, devoted animal lover, and likes all things nerd. He lives in Springfield, Illinois.
