Bardy was born on April 10, 1960, and a fraternal twin of a pair of boys. He is the youngest child of nine children having four brothers and four sisters. He grew up in La Grange, Illinois, and graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1978. In 1982, he earned a BA degree in Anthropology from Indiana University. He volunteered time as a lobbyist and participated in several historic preservation and environmental conservation projects during the development phases of the Illinois-Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor.
Biographical and Professional Information
Brian Gerard Bardy is the author of one book, and a co-author of one book on topics covering Illinois history. He is the author of fourteen articles covering Illinois politics, history, and archaeology. Recently, I earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2006 at National-Louis University. He is the benefactor of the Tom Greenwood Collection in the Ayer Modern Manuscript Collection at the Newberry Library, Chicago. The collection contains 32 primary source materials chronicling the 1961 American Indian Chicago Conference held at the University of Chicago.
