David Curry

Connection to Illinois: Curry was born and raised in Springfield. After school in Connecticut and some time in New York City, he returned to Springfield and lived there again from 1965 until 1981.

Biography: David Curry is a poet who resides in Chicago. He has published two books - HERE (New Rivers Press, 1970) and CONTENDING TO BE THE DREAM (New Rivers Press, 1979.) He also publishes poems and short stories in THE SOUTHERN REVIEW and other literary journals. He has been a speechwriter and a press aide in the Office of Illinois Attorney General, Chicago, 1982-1989 and a speechwriter at the American Dental Association, since 1989.
