Connection to Illinois: I was born in Berwyn, Illinois, a town once described by Son of Svengoolie as 'a city made entirely out of used car dealers and savings and loans'. I moved to Villa Park when I was six and lived there until I graduated from Columbia College Chicago. Fifteen of my post-college years were spent living in various neighborhoods of Chicago: Ravenswood, Ukrainian Village and Jefferson Park. I now reside in Des Plaines, Illinois.

Biography: I have worked as a cigar store clerk, an office equipment mover and a library specialist. As the “M” half of the comic “A.M.” I drew artwork for the Evanston-based arts monthly, ''Strong Coffee'', also contributing my short stories. I did illustration work for the website, ''FamousDreams.com'' which cataloged dreams about celebrities and once played drums for the Villa Park punk rakehells, Six Slug Vacation. My writing has appeared in the anthologies ''What Happened to Us These Last Couple Years?'' and ''It’s All Good: How Do You Like It Here Now?'' My work has also appeared in ''Wisconsin Review'', ''Pindeldyboz'', ''Opium Magazine'', ''Word Riot'', ''CellStories'', ''2nd Hand'' and several other publications. I live with my wife Rachel and Darla, our one-eyed shelter dog. This is where I write, play bass guitar and go fishing whenever possible.
