Connection to Illinois: I was born in Maryland, but I have lived in Illinois for over ten years. I graduated from Greenville College, University of Illinois Springfield and McKendree University. My story about Mustangs takes place here in Bond County, when we bought eight acres and began to fulfill a lifelong dream. Many people think of Illinois as Chicago, but the rural areas have a rich tradition of country life in the heartland. The farms and hard working people produce food for the nation. This is a nice place to settle down.

Biography: I was a missionary for 18 years, and I traveled a lot. Finally we moved here from Bolivia to get our children established in college. Having returned from South America right after 9/11 left me unprepared to work, so I had to return to college and get a Masters. I went for a second Masters and have enjoyed working at two community colleges in Central Illinois - Kaskaskia College for 10 years and Lake Land College as needed for Spanish at the Kluthe Center. I enjoy my volunteer work as I get older, life is more about being active and useful than just monetary gain. I want to reflect my experiences and accounts of living in Illinois with my Mustangs as written in my first book.
