Biography: Almira is a member of Off-Campus Writers Workshop in Evanston, the oldest community writing workshop in the country. Among her published works are short stories, poetry, essays, and picture books, and she has written short plays for community theater. Aside from speaking at schools and various educational and cultural venues, she enjoys organizing and attending literary and Filipino American events, and is a strong advocate for protecting our natural resources.
