Connection to Illinois: Fritsch came to Chicago in the mid-1970's where he founded the Morton's Steakhouse on State street. He still lives in Chicago.

Biography: After learning the restaurant business from the kitchen up at his family's restaurant in Germany, he came to Chicago and started a steak house with Arnie Morton. Today he is vice-chairman of Morton's the Steakhouse Restaurants with high end franchises in prime and exotic locations around the world.
