Thomas Gregg

Died: 1892 Pen Name: None Connection to Illinois: Gregg produced the first newspaper in Hancock County at the young age of 27. Biography: Thomas Gregg was an early journalist and author. He was educated in the 'common'shools of the midwest and learned his printing trade in Cincinnati. He is credited with starting the first newspaper in Hancock County, The Carthagenian.
