Biography: Janet Ayer Fairbank was an author and suffragette. She attended private schools before enrolling at the University of Chicago. Janet Ayer married Kellogg Fairbank, a lawyer. She joined the women’s suffrage movement, and became incresingly involved in political matters. During WWI she joined the Progressive Party and the National Defense committees, and also performed valuable hospital work in Chicago.
