Charla Miriam Krupp

Pen Name: None Connection to Illinois: Born in Chicago, Charla was raised in Wilmette, Illinois. Biography: An award-winning magazine journalist, Charla spent 15 years as the entertainment editor for Glamour magazine, where she created the magazine’s “Women of the Year Awards.” She helped make Time Inc.’s new style magazine, InStyle, a publishing phenomenon. She returned to Glamour as beauty director and later served as executive editor of Hearst’s Shop Etc. Charla wrote a monthly column for More Magazine called “Fashion for Grown-Ups.” She had also written for Time Magazine, The New York Times, Town & Country, Cosmopolitan, Chicago Tribune and USA Today Weekend. Charla passed away in January 2012 of Breast Cancer.
