Connection to Illinois: Trumper lives in Springfield.

Biography: Len Trumper is an independent concert promoter who staged a string of legendary shows in Springfield in the 1970s and 80s. The shows were played at smaller venues before any large capacity centers were built. Despite this obstacle, Trumper made Springfield into a 'must' stop for acts like KISS, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Head East, Black Oak Arkansas, Angel and many others. Trumper's book gives a behind-the-scenes look at what this was all like at the time.
