Taylor was born in Springfield but moved to Phoenix, Arizona with her family when she was nine years old. After retiring, she moved back to Springfield, and currently resides in Leland Grove, a village of Springfield.
Biographical and Professional Information
Sandra Taylor attended Arizona State University, and Oxford University in England. While living in Los Gatos, California, she worked in high technology as director of marketing for several high tech firms. Working in the high technology, she was tasked with the introduction of the Osborne Computer, which was the first portable computer on the market. She subsequently lead marketing teams for several other computer and data companies including Autodesk in San Rafael, California.
Taylor also worked for the State of Illinois for five years in the then named Department of Conservation, where she was responsible for marketing the Illinois state lodges that had been refurbished in the 1980s, as well as newly built lodges.
