Biography: Steve Schlager was born in Quincy, Illinois and raised across the Mississippi River in Canton, Missouri. He moved there in 1970 and graduated from Canton, Missouri High School. Schlager is fascinated with Southern Illinois history. His first book is about a Coal mine payroll train that is hijacked and vanishes completely, for nearly one hundred years. His second book (in the works) is about a civil war era paddlewheel steamboat that is rammed and sunk by a stolen Union Ironclad. A retired businessman, Schlager sold his Promotional Products company in 2013. He and his wife travel extensively, looking for historical ideas to turn into fiction books.
