Biographical and Professional Information
Olga Abella earned her PhD at State University of New York at Stony Brook. A Professor of English at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois, she teaches courses in Milton, creative writing, heroism, Renaissance and seventeenth-century literature, and composition. She has also been the Editor of ''Karamu'' and ''Bluestem'' at Eastern Illinois University.Abella's poems have been published in various journals and online magazines, including ''The MacGuffin'', ''CALYX'', ''poetrybay'', ''Long Island Quarterly'', ''black dirt'', ''Natural Bridge'', ''Kaliope'', and ''Urban Spaghetti''. She has published two chapbooks, ''Grasping to What Is'' in 1993 and ''What it Takes'' in 2000.
