Biography: Bill earned three college degrees at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He is a retired social studies teacher and school administrator from Edwardsville High School and is the author of 15 books on the history and nostalgia of St. Louis, East St. Louis, and Illinois. He has written 20 other books on general history covering such topics as the Civil War, History of Iowa, World War II, Route 66, the Old West, Mixed Martial Arts, American Heroes, the American Revolution, and Ted Turner Classic Movies. He writes a regular column for the Edwardsville Intelligencer newspaper and has had several of his editorials published in the opinion section of the St. Louis Post Dispatch. In 2016, he wrote the book, American Heroes and Icons, (McNaughton), and the city of Glen Carbon honored him as a Hometown Hero.
