Richer Than the Rockefellers
ISBN: 0967799201

Holly Hill Pub. 2002

Ab Roby loved his farm and its splendid crops. His three sons saw no future living on the farm. Oft tales of rich families like the Rockefellers and Vanderbilts gave them the idea they could grow up and become rich. The dream becomes an even richer hope, when a Texas oil speculator and a "doodlebugger" come to call and tells the family oil might be beneath their land.

Ab Roby remembered that years before the doodlebugger's grandfather had saved his own grandparent's farm by witching for water. He felt morally obligated to repay a moral debt. What happens when the oil johnnys arrive sets new futures for Ab and his family. Ab's sons set out to strike it rich on their own in the oil business and eventually come together as a company.

Operating as Roby Drilling and Producing Company, the brothers combine their three unique skills to face unexpected business, physical and personal challenges in a world accented with colorful characters.

Richer Than The Rockefellers underlines the importance independent oilmen played in an industry ruled by giants.
