Connection to Illinois: While Christine Laing is not a resident of Illinois, she is the co-author of the book, ''The World's Colombian Exposition: The Chicago World's Fair of 1893'' - an Illinois subject of interest.

Biography: As partners in The History Bank, she and her husban, Norman Bolotin, developed the award-winning Young Readers' History of the Civil War for Penguin/Scholastic. They currently are expanding their museum and publishing studies previously distributed and sponsored in part by the American Association of Museums, Association of American Publishers, Ingram Book Co. and the University of Chicago. She and her husband live in Woodinville, Washington.
