Connection to Illinois: Jennifer was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She also returned there after college.

Biography: After being a student and political cartoonist at Antioch College in the early 1980s, Berman’s cartoons surfaced on Telegraph Avenue, in Berkeley, CA, where she was a street vendor. She then moved back to her hometown of Chicago. For two years she was a graphic designer for Flying Fish Records, and after that, she decided it was time to take the plunge and enter the exhilirating and terrifying world of self-employment. Her sydicated cartoon panel, ''Berman'', appears in numerous newseeklies, magazines and newspapers including the ''Chicago Reader'' and the ''Chicago Times''. Jennifer currently lives in Southwestern Ohio.
