Connection to Illinois: Jason a native of Chicago graduated from Antioch College and lives in Chicago, Illinois.

Biography: About recovering autoholic Jason Rothstein: A native Chicagoan, Jason Rothstein first started to realize how much of a drain on resources his car had become in 2005, but it took him more than a year of soul searching to finally cut the cord. For a person who doesn't make his living as a writer, Jason certainly has a lot of credits to his name. Prior to developing his obsession with the non-automotive aspects of Chicago, Jason explored the city and other topics in articles for ATA's Journey magazine; through contributions to two of Margaret Littman's Chicago guidebooks, The Dog Lover's Companion to Chicago, and VegOut! Vegetarian Guide to Chicago; and in opinion pieces for Catalyst Chicago and e-Prairie. Jason currently works full time at the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where the pro-pedestrian messages come fast and furious. He holds a BA in psychology from Antioch College, as well as a masters from the University of Chicago.
