Biography: Sheehan retired from the City Colleges of Chicago in 1994 after teaching in the English Department at Olive-Harvey College for 26 years. In his spare time he is a writer, and he does a weekly guest stint on Tuesday mornings on AM 580, WTCM which servs the Grand Traverse, Michigan area. The show is called ''Words to the Wise'', and it covers the joys and vicissitudes of the English language. The program can also be heard in streaming audio and podcast by going to [http://www.wtcmradio.com www.wtcmradio.com].Mike also maintains a blog about language at [http://www.verbmall.blogspot.com www.verbmall.blogspot.com]. It covers the same issues as his weekly radio program: word and phrase origins, punctuation concerns, verb and pronoun agreement, historical aspects of English, and many other items of concern to writers and readers.Sheehan currently resides in Leelanau County, Michigan.
