Bruce Gans

Connection to Illinois: Bruce Gans was born in Chicago and has lived here all his life with the exception of attending out of state Universities.

Biography: Bruce bean his career with the Chicago Daily News, as an assistant to columnist Mike Royko, from 1969 to 1970; He ten went to the Southeast Economist, as a general assignment reporter. In 1971 he went to Michael Reese Hospital, as associate editor for in-house publications. From 1977 to 1979 he was a faculty member at Lake Forest College abd then the City Colleges of Chicago. He then went to Wright College in 1988 where he is Professor of Rhetoric and Literature at Wilbur Wright College and chairperson of the college Literature Committee. Bruce is also founder and director of Great Books Curriculum.
