Biography: Wayne White grew up in Tennessee, Illinois. He went to the high school in the next little town of Colchester and graduated in 1940. In 1943, at age 20, White left his hometown in Illinois and began flying bombing missions with the 454th Bombardment Group, US 15th Air Force.
