Biography: In addition to her writing, Carolyn Alessio teaches at Christo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago's Pilson Neighborhood. She is working on completing a novel titled, 'Mijo.' She has been a recipient of creative writing grants from the National endowment for the Arts and the Illinois Arts Council.
