When Mr. Baldwin was a boy of 10, his family moved from Bradley, Illinois to East St. Louis, Illinois. In his later years, he lived in Belleville.
Biographical and Professional Information
Carl Baldwin was a journalist/reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from the 1930s to his retirement in 1973. He then became a historian, focusing on southwestern Illinois and producing two prize-winning books.
