Illinois Connection

I moved to Chicago after graduating from the University of Michigan and lived in the city for five years. When I got married, we moved to Evanston, IL, where we have lived since 1989. My picture book, the Animal Store Alphabet Book, is based on a pet shop in Lincolnwood and illustrated by Rebecca Hamlin, a Skokie-based artist.

Biographical and Professional Information

Susan Bearman is a writer and marketing communications consultant. Her first picture book, the Animal Store Alphabet Book, was published in December 2012 (along with a companion coloring book). She writes, blogs, edits and teaches writing and social networking to students of all ages.
