Biographical and Professional Information
Tad and France Mitchell have lived in the suburbs of Chicago for more than a decade. Tad was born in Evanston, Illinois, and France in Montréal, Canada. They met as teenagers when their families participated as cast in an outdoor play in upstate New York. Tad works in software. France is a homemaker. They have four children and one grandchild. This is their first book, Tad is the author and France is the illustrater.

francemitchell@yahoo.com Information prior to appearances A week prior to the presentation The thirteen 20x20 paintings are displayed in the school for everyone to enjoy and vote for their favorite painting. They can also look for the Willis (Sears)
Tower in every painting. The winning painting is the page the author reads at the presentation. The students have the option to participate in a drawing by completing a crossword puzzle. PowerPoint Presentation "Steps to publishing a book" which includes two short video. Video one shows the commercial printer printing our book and the second video shows the 13+ steps it took to make our book into a hard cover. The author and illustrator talk about the process of writing and illustrating the book and all the other careers that are involved in publishing a book. A bookmark is given to all students. A drawing for a museum quality print is drawn at the presentation. Session 40-60 mins depending on time allotted by the host. We can do two sessions back to back if needed.
