Pen Name: None

Connection to Illinois: Ted grew up in Zion, Illinois. He is now retired and living in Spokane, Washington.

Biography: Sabine is a retired English and creative writing teacher who taught in the Samoan Islands, St. George's School in Spokane, WA, and finally at Cairo American College in Egypt. During those years he took safaris to Kenya, Botswana, Uganda and Zimbabwe. He has also snorkeled in Samoa, Tonga and Fiji, attended a sing-sing in the highlands of New Guinea, seen the exotic wildlife in Borneo, Madagascar and Australia. As a young man, Sabine drove the length of the Pan American highway, collected exotic insects in Ecuador and prospected for diamonds in Guyana. But the areas that ignited the first fires of wonderment were the frog ditches, ponds and swamps around his home town: Zion, Illinois, the magical setting for Crows in the Autumn Sky.
