Biographical and Professional Information

Ulysses S. Grant was the eighteenth President of the United States. He was the best known Union general of the Civil War. he worked in Missouri as a real estate salesman, a farmer, and an agent in a customhouse. His father had a leather goods store in Galena, Illinois, where he accepted a job as a clerk in 1860.
