Biographical and Professional Information

Olivia Maciel resides in Chicago, where she is a lecturer in Spanish and Latin American literature at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She obtained her Bachelor's in Spanish and Latin American Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Master's in Hispanic Studies at the Univesity of Illiois at Chicago and her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in Romance Languages and Literatures.

Maciel has published several books of poetry and is the editor of the poetry anthology Astillas de luz/Shards of Light.
