Michael Bakalis he has served as Illinois State Superintendent of Education from 1971-1975, Illinois State Comptroller from 1976-1978 and Deputy Undersecretary of Education for the United States from 1980-1982. He is currently Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University's Kellogg Public/Nonprofit Management department.
