A lifelong journalist, Marla's essays and feature articles have been published in Ladies' Home Journal, Health, Family Circle, Parents, The Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune Magazine. Prior to freelancing, she was a staff writer and editor for the Chicago Sun-Times and a bureau chief for W magazine and Women’s Wear Daily. She lives in the Chicago area with her husband and daughter.
