Freedman is a sports journalist for the Chicago Tribune. He has worked since 2001. He was previously the sports editor of the Anchorage Daily News in Alaska and wrote for the Philadelphia Inquirer. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Freedman is the author of 27 books and the winner of more than 200 journalism awards.
