A graduate of Yale and Princeton, Profesor Dailey taught at Rice University and John Hopkins before joining the University of Chicago in 2006. Her research and teaching focus on U.S. history since the Civil War with an emphasis on the post-emancipation South and the political and legal history of civil rights.
