Madsen was born and raised in Chicago. She graduated from the University of Chicago and received her Masters from Roosevelt University.

Biographical and Professional Information

Madsen has worked in government and had a number of jobs ranging from Deputy Village Clerk for a town of 60,000, to Director of Economic Development for the State of Illinois. She has also had her own consulting business, advising a variety of organizations on economic development activities and fund raising. After selling her business, Diane and her husband moved to Florida.
