He was born in Silvis, Illinois and grew up just a few feet from the Mississippi River in Moline, Illinois.

Biographical and Professional Information

Pregracke is an environmentalist and writer. He is the founder and president of Living Lands and Waters, in East Moline, Illinois. He has been profiled in periodicals and on television, including the biography, Chad Pregracke: River Rescuer, WQPT, Public Broadcasing Service (PBS) in 2003.

Besides his book, Pregracke is also the author of a weekly column for the Quad City Times in Iowa and Illinois.
